20 Referrals Given!

Hi Everyone…
BORG met this morning and membership is now up to 27… Our group is experiencing steady growth and we now have a wealth of different businesses to promote.
Great job… In the past 2 weeks, 20 referrals were given/received by members of the group. That is an excellent number and I know that several companies within our group are seeing an great return on their time investment with BORG.
Menza Bouwman from Triboda Printing gave a very informative presentation on her business. She also introduced Jason Hooper, who will be a regular face at our meetings representing Triboda.
Triboda provides custom printing, and has one of the only digital printing presses in the Okanagan. This unique equipment provides Triboda with the ability print on most surfaces - Deb Sherlock was lucky enough to win a Door Dazzle product, meaning she will receive a custom printed door… very cool.
Triboda also has a digital scrapbooking product called Avatree that allows you to upload your digital photos creat your own scrapbook. The software is free to download. I have downloaded Avatree and it is really cool. I will be picking up a custom mouse pad soon!

Hi Everyone!
Once again we had a strong 2 weeks with 10 referrals given and received, which really shows ‘the proof is in the pudding’ with BORG. Brian mentioned that he has had a great month with his business due to our group - Congrats to your success this month, Brian. Excellent job, BORG!
This morning we changed our location to The Pantry, which makes me very happy (eggs benedict happy!)… Bean to Brew was a great location, but we are now at the point where they cannot hold our growing numbers….. which speaks to the hard-working character of the group, IMO.
Stacey Taylor from My Right Hand Virtual Assistant gave a great presentation which included an exercise asking group members to list some of the problems they face with their business. It was good to see the different (but same) issues faced by group members - Stacey can really help our businesses by handling various tasks for us, so we can go out and make more money or generate more clientele. Thanks a lot, Stacey…
The group welcomed Menza Bouwman from Triboda Printing & Avatree, David Marcus from 24-7 Computer Repair, and Kathy MacDonald who will be starting an online business in the pet industry!

6 referrals given and received since our last meeting!
Well done group!
Today was a great meeting at Bean to Brew. Stan from Shear Sharpness came to our meeting as a guest! Nice meeting you, Stan. Connie gave out a brochure on some Spring Specials for Esthetics on the Go and Voila Hair Studio. Barb Vander Hock (from Voila) joined us as a guest as well - it was a pleasure meeting you as well! Connie handed out a coupon with a special deal on a manicure, hair coloring (with Barb), and reflexology. Thanks a lot!
Darren Medwedew from TOPS Telecom gave a great presentation on the TOPS business….
He handed out some folders with some cool information on TOPS & Mitel Phone Systems, and spent some time discussing policies and products. Darren also discussed TAG (Technology Assurance Group) and how they help create a competitive advantage for TOPS in BC. TOPS also offers a great program called C-TAP that covers labour/maintenance costs and ‘refresh’ dollars should something go wrong with your phone systems. I thought that was a very cool selling feature that has real value.
Deb Sherlock was kind enough to mention that there is a Business After 5 (Vernon Chamber of Commerce function) on March 17, 2009 at 5:00PM. The function will be help at Predator Ridge. If you are not a member of the Vernon CoC, there is a $5.00 admission fee. Hope to see everyone there!

12 Referrals Given and Received from BORG members in the last 2 weeks…… a new record!
This morning we welcomed some new members to the group including Marie Hayden from Hayden Fitness and Singer/Songwriter Sherrie Erickson who has an album called ‘Songs From My Sofa’.
We discussed our Value Proposition document and a motion to adopt the document was carried and passed!
We heard a great presentation from Sandi Melnick about her business, Uniglobe Kalmalka Travel! Sandy passed out a great letter pointing out the advantages to using a Travel Agent instead of other online travel sites.
Thanks to all who attended and we’ll see you in 2 weeks (or hopefully sooner if anyone has a referral!)……

Great Experience with Pro Tow!

Hi Everyone….
I wanted to let everyone know about a good experience that my wife and I had with Pro Tow (Sandi’s husbands’ towing company) over the weekend.
For those that don’t know, my wife and I have a crazy little mutt named Kaiser (mini-schnauzer) and we take him to the dog park every weekend. This Saturday I could not go as I had a meeting, so my wife went ahead without me.
Unfortunately, the parking lot at Mutrie Dog Park was full and my wife decided to park the truck in a snowbank! Of course she was not able to get the truck out once her and Kaiser were finished running around…. she called me at home in a panic!
So I immediately thought of our group and remembered the Pro Tow card that Sandi gave me in the summertime (hang on to those old cards - you never know when you will need one). We only have one vehicle and I could not drive down to the park to help my wife.
I called Pro Tow and they had my wife out of the ditch within 25 minutes of my original call to their dispatch. Their driver Norm was very friendly with my wife and she had a really good, fast, and prompt experience with Pro Tow. Most other towing companies seem to take hours to respond! Pro Tow had my wife out of the ditch before I could even arrange a ride to get to the dog park to help myself!
So….. Thanks to Sandi and Warren Melnick and their driver Norm! Pro Tow did a great job. I would highly recommend Pro Tow’s services if you get into a jam on the road!

There were 11 referrals given and received in the last 2 weeks. Well done, BORG.
Today we discussed creating a ‘Value Proposition’ for BORG that would create some ethical and professional standards for the group. Please take some time in the next 2 weeks to consider your business values and then we will brainstorm at our next meeeting.
Dale Hofer gave a great presentation on Devine Vintners which had me salivating! Please visit the Devine Vintners website or give Dale a call for more details on his products.

Subscribe Function Added!

HI Everyone,
You might have noticed some posts yesterday testing the subscribe function of the site. The tests have been successful, and you can now subscribe to the BOK Referral Group mailing list.
To join, click the subscribe button and then select the subscription service that you want to use.
You can have a BOK Referral Group RSS feed, or you can have our updates emailed to you daily. I recommend having the posts emailed. To do this, complete the following procedure:
- Click on the Subscribe button on the left hand side of the site.
- The following will open:

Add to any subscribe screenshot

Select the ‘Email’ button to get an email feed.

I recommend selecting Feed Blitz. You’ll have to join Feed Blitz by entering your email and completing a quick security procedure to ensure that you are not spam.

Feed Blitz will then email you updates every 24 hours on the blog (if there is new information at bokreferralgroup.com).
